The TFCA provides leadership to career and volunteer Fire Chiefs, Chief Fire Officers and managers of emergency service organizations throughout the State of Tennessee through vision, information, education, service and representation to enhance their knowledge, skills, and abilities. The TN Fire Chiefs Association (TFCA) also encourages the professional advancement of the fire service to ensure and maintain greater protection of life and property from fire and natural or man-made disasters.

Who Should Join?   All Chiefs, whether you are career or volunteer, Chief Fire Officers, other officers, vendors or anyone else wanting to support the mission of the TFCA will benefit from joining the association.

 

Benefits of Becoming a Member  The TFCA works diligently to promote the fire service through training, committee work and involvement. One of the many ways is through legislative mandates through the FLAG PAC. Members also receive voting rights, share best practices and available resources when needed. The annual conference and quarterly meetings are attended by members from across the state and are a great way to network with fellow officers. The TN Fireman’s Association Quarterly Newsletter also provides reports from each region, interviews of newly appointed Chiefs andreports on high profile fire calls.

 

 Annual membership is payable by July 1st of each year.

 Active Membership (Paid Chief*) ~ $100.00

Active Membership (Volunteer Chief) ~ $50.00

Associate Membership ~ $100.00

*If your primary income is from a fire department, your are considered a Paid Chief.

 

What Are My Dues Used For?  The TFCA provides scholarships to various training events offered across the state and is a proud sponsor of TN Weekend at the NFA. Dues received also co-sponsor events benefiting the Tennessee Fallen Firefighter Memorial. The TFCA, in cooperation with the Tennessee Fire Safety Inspectors Association and the Tennessee Fireman's Association, support a legislative lobbyist, who is active on State and National levels. We are also members of the National Volunteer Fire Council. The TFCA supports the Tennessee Chaplains Association and the Southeastern Association of Fire Chiefs.

 

A PORTION OF YOUR MEMBERSHIP DUES IS TAX DEDUCTIBLE AS A BUSINESS EXPENSE, BUT NOT AS A CHARITABLE CONTRIBUTION. EIGHTEEN PERCENT (18%) OF DUES ARE NOT DEDUCTIBLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH IRC SEC. 6033.

 

Other benefits of being a member of the TFCA!

  1. The TFCA hosts three regional meetings and one annual conference per year. These meetings allow members to conduct association business and attend training. Training programs assist members in developing and maintaining strong management and leadership skills. 

  2. Being a member of the largest fire service leadership organization in Tennessee provides the opportunity to meet with other Chief Officers to share ideas and solutions to common fire service issues. 

  3. TFCA Committees promote, support and influence the future direction of fire and emergency services in Tennessee.

  4. Members help shape the TFCA’s position on public policy issues.

  5. The TFCA Website provides a calendar of events, important information concerning the fire service, and links to related fire service associations.
